United Kingdom - Discovering The Icons Of London

Hello there!
Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries and regions, including Japan, Maldives, Indonesia, US, Europe, New Zealand and the latest one being Australia, it's time to fly over to United Kingdom!
This was a trip I made in 2014, I was there partly for work and partly for leisure as well. At that point in my life, it was one of the further destination that I have travelled all the way from Asia and it was definitely an eye opener to see how United Kingdom, or more specifically London, looked like. One thing that I remembered vividly was how strong GBP was, and everything was so expensive. For example, even though the numerical digits of the prices were small, because 5 or 10 GBP was easily a lot already. Anyway, time to relive those moments as I share the sights and sounds of my experience!
Here are the posts so far:

My London work plus leisure trip has come to an end as this will be the final post for my UK and London series, thanks to everyone who have followed my colourful journey in this amazing country and city.
In the final post, I wanted to end with the icons of London, especially those that I haven't mentioned, but still deserved a mention. And it starts with a walk along River Thames. In one of first days, I took this walk during the evening, it was quite a nice walk and there was a lot of sights to soak in. And you could see the ferris wheel, London Eye, in the distance.

They even had bars on the boats on the river. Would people really want to dine on a platform that sways with the waters? Definitely a no no for people with motion sickness.

There were many of such bridges on River Thames as we got closer to London Eye.

Finally we reached! We have a similar one in Singapore, called the Singapore Flyer, so it wasn't a big WOW for me. Still it's nice to look at as the biggest icon in the background of all the photos in this area.

Another of those bridges as we headed back to the hotel.

If you play Monopoly, you definitely would know this place. Advance to Trafalgar Square! Yes, this is the Trafalgar Square! Very crowded and the building behind is National Gallery.

Some historical structures spotted in the area too!

And within walking distance, we arrived at the Big Ben!

And that's the Palace of Westminister, which is the meeting place for their Parliament.

Another must visit in London is British Museum! The museum was so big, and I was there on two occasions and I think I didn't manage to cover the entire museum. Here's one of the beautiful halls.

Finally, a "tourist attraction". Not so much of an attraction but there were long lines of crowds queueing up to take photo at "Platform 9 3/4". If you are a Harry Potter fan, you would know how iconic this trolley and platform is.

They also had a shop which sells Harry Potter merchandise, and of course, it was very crowded as well.

It's been so many years, but definitely brings back memories. I read all their books and watched all the movies, have you?

I was tempted to buy those T-shirts because the me 12 years ago felt there were too expensive. Haha.

So that's it! 13 posts and a few thousands of words! My posts for the London trip are complete! To be honest, I didn't expect there were so many things to write about, but as I got through the posts and photos, there was indeed a lot of rave about UK and London! So where should we go to next? ;)
And that's all I have today! Have you been to London or United Kingdom? Let me know in the comments below!
