Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: A Thanksgiving Tribute!

It's been a while since I did a Community Engagement Challenge and when I saw that this week's theme was A Thanksgiving Tribute! What a meaningful theme to write about, having played Splinterlands for over 4 years.
Unlike the previous Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge posts, where I discuss strategies and share battles, this one will be very different!
🦸 A card that’s been your MVP
Over the years, I have adapted my playing style to different generation of cards and it's hard to pinpoint one single MVP card.

The first one that comes to my mind has to be Djinn Oshannus. This was also one of big purchases I made, back then, I bought this copy for USD 2.38. Eeks. Haha. Among the Legendary reward cards at that time, this card is so strong. I have easily speed run through the lower tiers just by using this card.

The next era was Sea Monster's time to shine. I realised I was frequently losing to this card and I decided to get one copy. Because I wanted more bonuses, I got the Gold Foil edition and this copy cost me USD 12. Haha. Having high damage and being able to self heal, it's really hard to take down this tank.

The cards just get more and more expensive. I purchased Astral Entity for USD 21, because I really liked its ability as a summoner and the artwork looked really cool. Astral Entity's abilities paired very well with many of the Death cards and it was also that time I expanded my strong decks from just Water to also Death.
🛡️ A guild or teammate who’s helped you grow
Definitely PIZZA 2! But it wasn't my first guild though. The first guild was very small, I was sort of the deputy but the leader left shortly. No hard feelings of course, people come and go, but I found PIZZA 2 when I was stranded. Even after 200+ guild brawls, we are still battling! Participation is somewhat lacking, but I guess as a leisure gamer, that's fine. It's all in the name of fun!
And the 80+ Gladius cases that I accumulated over the brawls definitely came in useful as Gladius cards were allowed in the later part of the game.
🧪 A moment in the game that made you excited, proud, or just plain thankful
I think one of the most memorable moment was getting a Gold Foil Legendary from a chest, and my first one was Djinn Biljka. Back then, I was new to the game and I didn't know this was so rare to obtain. I still remembered it was trading at over USD 400+ at that time, but times have changed, you can get this card at slightly over USD 20 now. Oh well. On hindsight, I should have sold it! HAHAHAHA!

It has been 4 years with the game, I have progressed along as well. I started off being a serious gamer, playing every single day, not just battles, but also spending a lot of time calculating and managing rentals and trading cards. But as time progressed, the game had too many changes, and life got busy, and it was challenging to keep up. At the same time, the values of the assets were declining and people were leaving the game one by one. It was demoralising for sure, but over time, I transitioned to become a casual gamer, and was just focused more on having fun rather than calculating how much SPS I can earn per battle or optimising my DEC income from rentals. And I think that definitely helped to set my mental expectations. So here I am now, having fun on guild brawls with guild mates!
That's all I have! Let me know if you have any thoughts too!
As always, thanks for reading and have a pleasant day ahead!
