The story really shows how routine can feel heavy when someone important is missing. You can sense the emptiness left by his wife’s absence, because even though he keeps busy with work, the gym, and conversations, everything seems to lose its flavor without sharing it. I liked how it captures that contrast between the “normal” life that goes on and the lack of joy he feels in the everyday. It’s something anyone can relate to, since we’ve all had moments when someone’s company makes simple things special, and without that person everything feels colder.

Indeed.. The busy schedule that one has is not supposed to fill the void of company. I'm glad that you liked it & thanks for passing by,
A certain friend—in fact, the Uruguayan poet Mario Benedetti—speaks in one of his poems of having ‘a solitude so crowded,’ and he refers to those special beings that are love, which is not the same as attachment or dependence. I believe these ideas could be revisited in future publications.
Yes, these ideas touches on the experience of everyone at a certain point of time. I guess, that is the reason why in literature these ideas are revisited.
