The smoking falls in Norway

The Smoking Falls, Rjukandefossen is a splendid waterfall surrounded by nature that is minimally impacted by human intervention. there is a path from the small parking lot about 500 meters to the falls and another path to the rope bridge across the gorge a few hundred meters below the falls. other than that it's lush greenery and exposed rock. it's not the highest of falls but there is plenty of rushing water that creates a mist and keeps the plants so lush. it's not among the most visited waterfalls so if you are lucky you may be the only ones there

after the falls the water rushes through a narrow gorge with beautifully carved stone. and beyond that the river widens and slows down. there it's possible to swim but the water is ice cold early in the season and cold throughout the summer so unless you have viking blood your dip is likely to be short.

The Smoking Falls is beautiful, thanks for sharing your photos. Do you have Viking blood to take a swim? 😀
