november walk in the park after sunset

i took this series on an evening walk in the historic seaside park exactly one year ago.

in this part of norway lobster season lasts until the end of november so there were still a few boats in the canal. this one happens to belong to a friend of mine who sets lobster traps throughout the 2 month season. he does well but often gets so many crabs in his traps that he gives some away, fortunately for us

past the canal and the yellow wooden cadet barracks the park is open, with just the old stone gunpowder house before the beach

facing more east the lighthouse appears to be on the mainland but it is on an island about 1 km across the sound

here on the southern end of the park, from Sildahølet looking across the sound to the island

a couple of shots zoomed out with a view to the southwest

this small red house is called plankekokeriet because it stands where the lumber to build the ships was boiled and bent to shape in the olden days. now it is an art gallery with ceramics and paintings

the alley with elm trees back to the park entrance
