swans are fairly common here and often come in the harbor in the hopes of finding a human willing to feed them. but away from the town swans in their natural habitat feed in shallow waters on aquatic plants, algae, mollusks and even small fish. they can't dive but with their long necks they search under water for whatever they can find.
swans are a universal symbol of grace, gliding smoothly through the water, shining white with head held high, beautifully curved neck, and folded powerful wings. so naturally swans are typically portrayed in dignified positions that exemplify grace and elegance. but while feeding with their heads under water for extended periods they appear rather humorous indeed.

often times instead of tipping up their bottoms just by stretching out their long necks they are able to reach deeper than dabbling ducks. of course they eventually must come up for air. lifting their heads also gives them the opportunity to swallow whatever they manage to collect and store but soon after swallowing they dip their heads underwater looking for more.

Such beautiful shots 😍😍
