Fredriksvern Verft is well known for all the galleries and exhibitions especially during the summer. my favorite place is the old gunpowder house with an upstairs and a downstairs that provide completely different backdrops for the artist's works. the downstairs has a separate entrance from the back of the stone building. the floor is divided into three rooms by 2 thick separating walls with a narrow arches as the only passage between the rooms. the first room with the entrance featured some paintings but i was more attracted to the glass art in the other two sections

the artist, Kai Hoffstad is originally from town but has moved around for years before returning back to his roots here. this exhibition features a number of colorful, fantastical glass figures. including a mirror with a fused glass frame mounted beside the arch in the photo.

when standing in the right position the mirror hanging beside one arch reflects the other arch on the opposite wall and beyond that, the interior of the third room. so in the the shots both above and below we can see both arches at once as well as all the parallel walls in the building, the exterior wall in the first room, the first separating wall with the arch and mounted mirror, the mirror reflects the second separating wall with the other arch and through the arch the exterior wall of the third room. we can also see the flooring of each of the rooms

in this last photo some of the other fused glass figures mounted on the opposite wall are reflected in the mirror, in addition to the wooden floor of the middle room. even some of the back side of the flowery elements mounted on the frame are reflected in the mirror
