Christmas lights in Alicante

the Christmas lights in the streets of Alicante are phenomenal. though it has been a couple of years since we had the special opportunity to be there for Christmas, it's a scene i will not forget. each downtown street has it's own pattern spaced along the whole length of the street and it's easy to recognize where one is just by seeing the lights.
though Alicante is a city in Spain, Catalan is the local language and Bon Nadal is preferable to Feliz Navidad
some of the streets are full of traffic which adds to the total effect

while others are (part time) reserved for pedestrians

even Mushroom Street has it's unique design of lights overhead. this photo is the only one that has been posted once earlier. the street is so special i felt i couldn't leave it out here.

Hark the Herald Angels

in addition to all the overhead lighting there are plenty of ground based decorations all lit up spread around the city. here inside a gigantic 'Christmas tree bulb' that folks can walk through

so if you ever get the chance it's well worth a visit to the wonderful city of Alicante any time of the year, but especially so during the Christmas season. you won't regret it!
