Guatemala has an extensive history and was part of the Mayan empire building pyramids throughout the jungles. Most today are overgrown, but they are discovering new pyramids and ancient cities almost every year. The Americas have been populated by humans for more than 10,000 years and probably much more. Most of the recorded history came after the Spanish arrived and tired to destroy all of their old culture and convert them to Catholicism.

It is a very pretty place, lots of green jungles much like where you live!
