The Podiatrist Saga part 2

This post is not medical advice.
Welcome to part 2. I assume you read part 1 and know the basics. Yes, it gets even worse.
The radiology company that is doing the MRI gave us notice that the records have not been released. Paperwork has been signed for a full record release weeks ago.
They will not do the MRI without the xray. They said on their end the records have not been released to them, despite the paperwork filled out 3 weeks ago that says other wise.
So my husband calls the dr office again and explained that the radiology company needs the xrays for insurance and also the radiologist will use the x ray to determine if contrast is needed. The dr office said that they sent the paperwork over and our insurance approved it.
So he went to the radiology center in person after that phone call (it's impossible to get things done on the phone these days and just easier to go in person) and guess what's not there?
The fucking records! The ones we were told were sent.
Again my opinion they lost my x rays and don't actually have them .The prior auth is not enough for me to get the MRI I NEED the x rays and the x ray report . If I need the contrast which I need to know beforehand as I will have to come in like an hour early.
The woman at the radiology office said this is very unusual and getting records like this should not be a problem. They have not been sent ANY records from the podiatrist.
There is no record the x rays exist. Thankfully my husband is a witness that I did in fact get them done
Before you wonder if the podiatrist knew this...he is the one who ordered the MRI. That's why he did the x ray in the first place. We discussed how the xray is needed first because the insurance company needs it.
This is standard in the US. Not only do we have to pay premiums and deductibles that are like a second mortgage/rent we also have to jump through hoops and do things exactly how the insurance company wants them done. Even then things are often rejected/not paid for.
Oh and my foot and ankle is worse, like so much worse. Going to that dr office and all the walking and everything caused more damage to it. I'm in severe pain that is just getting worse and have received no instructions of what to do (compression/isolation/weight bearing)
Update. My medical records are a work of fiction.
Still no x ray or radiology report but we were able to get a copy of the records/notes and they are filled with lies. So much so that I can't list them all but will list the most obvious /easy to understand ones.
They said they made accommodations for my POTS. As I explained earlier we did arrange it beforehand but they did not in fact do it.
No sign of cyanosis. HAHAHAHAHA LMFAO.
I have had mottling /cyanosis /acrocyanosis for over 30 years since childhood in my hands and feet. It's not subtle.
- Temperature normal- I have Reynauds and multiple vascular issues. My feet are freezing sometimes white or blue. Occasionally they will get red hot but in the office they were freezing.
-Claimed he did a neuro exam and it was normal. He did not.
He barely touched my foot and said he wasn't going to because of how much pain I was in and the obvious swelling.
-The records note a full bilateral physical exam. He never touched my right foot.
-Records say he mentioned treatment options such as steroid shots. He did not. If he did I would have remembered because can't tolerate those types of steroids
-He mentioned telling me I needed an immediate biopsy on the large lump on my foot. He never mentioned that.Nor did he mention how I would get said biopsy. Do they do that in office? Another specialist? I have no fucking clue because it was never brought up.
-The records also say I was instructed to keep a close eye on it and to call immediately if it got worse. Also a complete lie.
How would you feel if you read that you were counseled on needing an immediate biopsy when it wasn't even mentioned? A normal person would probably be freaking out. I am just pissed off.
- He said we talks about orthotics. We did not.
-He also noted weak pulses. I can't be sure that the took them. I know he did not take one at the top of the foot. He may have taken a few pulses but he barely touched my feet. So this is a 50% lie at least.
- He said he went over the xray. He did not. In fact he didn't even look at it before we were kicked out.
The note does say no fractures or foreign bodies found but those are not the only abnormalities xrays can show. No mention of the crooked toe or other abnormalities on that foot that would be seen and noted on the xray-as they have been noted in previous x rays and these things do not just go away.
I'm miraculously cured!
Again we have not received the xray or radiology report.
-He said he told me the mass on my foot would only get bigger over time. He said nothing about that. It's unbearable now if that is true then I need surgery to remove it ASAP.
- The records also say he did not diagnose anything without the MRI -that is true. It's also a bit of a contradiction from the previous statement. If it's not diagnosed and he doesn't know what it is, how does he know it will continue to grow?
-He said we had a detailed at home (physical) therapy plan. There was no mention of this .
There's a list of more blatant lies. I can't possibly note all of them here. This is quite common .Check your medical records, folks. Lots of mine have outright fan fiction fever dream fantasies. I always have my husband at appointments with me.This is one of the reasons why.
This record mentioned multiple times how accommodating they were for my medical conditions. I received zero accommodations despite arranging it before my appointment. It's also the law. They know they broke it.
They are covering their asses big time here. But why? That's a question for the lawyers I suppose. The fact there is so much cover up tells me they fucked this up more than I am aware of which is hard to imagine.
My husband said he will just pay the $2500 for the MRI and sort it out later. We shouldn't have to. Most people can not afford to do this. It's not right. We did everything we were supposed to.

So many things went wrong with that medical visit, it is rather sad. Hoping for better results in the future, and for some healing for your condition!

Thanks. It's so insane. This is also not the only doctor who has outright lied in my medical chart . It seems more common than not. This one is pretty extreme, though. !BBH
