I found a good Rheumatologist

I had a tele consult with another rheum which was necessary. I like this doctor. he has a system and integrates ayurvedic and other types of modalities in addition to western medicine he als deals in peptides and hormones. That is something I will explore later.

For now he is my rheumatologist but for insurance purposes I still need ot find one locally for long term medications. it's...complicated but looks like I have 12 months to do that.

he read my chart and my imaging before the appointment. Most doctor's don't. he also found something in my bloodwork other doctors miss which is I under process methylaton. it's..complicated but basically for now I need special versions of vitamins and some TMG. I am not absorbing regular vitamins because this part is broken, likely due to a gene.

Anyway.... we got talking about treatments and I told him I am interested in the alternative therapies, supplements etc but we need to address my connective tissues falling apart and warping my bones. I already researched a medication and asked my immunologist about it.

i mentioned that medication and it's a medicine he has used and finds very effective in the type of psoriatic arthritis I have. This medicine is not a systemic biologic and is a safer alternative It does have risks but nit nearly as bad. My immune system sucks so I need to be careful.

He said he uses this medicine in some of his cancer patents for the same reason (compromised immune system)

Now I have to wait for insurance. My husband and I collectively pay about $20,000 a year in premiums, co pays and deductible's but still insurance often denies medications. I have already applied for the drug manufacturers co pay/bridge program.,the bridge should cover me for 12 months even if my insurance denies the medication.

We shall see.

This doctor is a little expensive and does not take insurance but if he can get me this med and keep me there for the next year it's worth it. Once I am more stable I will look into the other treatments- BPC-157 seems promising for me personally.

I hate waiting but I should know next week if I can get the medication my doctor prescribed. You'd think with the amount of money we pay for insurance it would be covered, but that's not how it works in the US.

Health insurance is a scam.
