17 days ago I was at 100 and about 4 months ago I was at 15 Steem Power. I am happy to have the voting strength of 10 newbies. It would be nice to have 1500 Steem Power or more in 4 months though. lol Hopefully I can hit 300 in the next month or two.

I did recently see some signs of Steem moving up although it did drop back down to $2.98. Right now it is above $3.

What is a bounty exactly?

A bounty is money sent to a post to be distributed to the users commenting on it. It provides a way to reward users directly and works in addition to the steem/sbd they receive from the blockchain. It works independently of SteemPower.

You create a bounty by sending any amount of sbd/steem to @steem-bounty together with a post-url in the memo.

How can I earn a bounty Users are then competing for the bounty by writing their answers to the post in comments that will achieve upvotes from the community and especially the bounty creator. The money of the bounty gets distributed to all top level comments of the post at the same time when the post is paid out (7 Days after it was written). How much everyone gets depends on the votes the comments received. The sender of the bounties votes are weighted higher so that she decideds where 80% of the bounty money goes and all other votes determine the rest.

@steem-bounty does all of this for you automatically. You can use this service to automatically pay out a challenge, ask a hard question or simply to reward the people that interact with you.

The upwards trend was probably cause by the Consensus meeting.
You really should do something about your voting power! At the moment your vote is less than 1 newbie due to your voting power!

Depends how I do have to interpret your question.
Regardless of your Steem Power, you do start with a voting power of 100%. Each time when you do give a full upvote, your voting power is decreased with around 2%. Each 2,4 hours (or there about) you will gain 2%. So by not being upvoting your voting power increases.
On the other side you have the value of your voting power. This can be increased by accumulating Steem Power. (Converting steem to steem power, the so called powering up!)

I too joined in January. But I am still at 80. Though I'm holding 40 SBD. I'm hoping SBD to rise above steem when I'll convert it all to SP.
Lately my followers are of no use. I don't have anyone upvoting me other than 5 fixed people. Slightly depressing.

It looks like SBD will never rise above Steem again.
If I were you I would probably undelegate and try and buy .8 Steem for 1 SBD and power up.
You might want to use @dustsweeper or another bot.

Nice .. I only got about 25 Voting Power. I haven't purchased any so all Steem / Steem Power and SBD I have is all from my post / comments + contest wins.

I give out allot of upvotes so my voting power is always very low.

Once my account grows I may be a little more concerned about my voting strength but for the time being since my vote is worth less then a penny ... my votes are more motivational support then monetary support so I'm not worried about it being so low.
