More Anthem Madness

avatar

When you get to be my age you have grown tired of butthurt. Everybody is always butthurt over others exercising their rights or asking for equal rights and treatment under the law. So, let us get this clear from the start, demanding people stand for the anthem is unconstitutional, according to the Supreme Court. It does not apply only to public school children.

I honestly do not care who you side with on NFL players kneeling, but the law is clear. I am sure lawyers could argue it until they are blue in the face, but we can not be forced to endorse nationalism (there is a difference in nationalism and patriotism) or subscribe to the "my country right or wrong" ideology. Once we go down that path everyone will get hurt, and butthurt.

The NFL made the decision to keep the debate going, and the same people who praised the sanctity of marriage woman with a history of divorce for not doing her job by denying a marriage license to a same sex couple will no doubt be unable to see their hypocrisy in action as they sit on their butts screaming at black players kneeling during the anthem. We are in for a long Fall and Winter with an above average chance for butthurt.

I wonder if I get .001 curation from this or .002. lol

I haven't used my bot yet. Question, how is it when you upvote somebody else the reward is less than a penny, but when you upvote yourself it is always over 20¢?

Never mind, dumb me just looked. You use bots on your comments too! Omg, i didn't believe people did that! I just read a post by a dolphin who said people did that and they were going to flag them! I thought, no, who would? LOL!

lol I like upvoting myself and others. I think I should be ok since I'm a small fry and I also upvote others. It sucks though that I don't get any curators for my comments. It seems like people could make out real good if they beat me ant the bots. I'm using some bots early now though so maybe I killed that opportunity. You should try it once or twice though and check your curation rewards later. You'll probably only get .001 but that's better than nothing.

Why do i have this vision of you two months from now making $100 off a comment of yours on a new person's 2¢ post? LOL! Just don't get blacklisted by a bunch of dolphins and whales. They ruin reps. I saw one go apeshit crazy on one guy for exploiting a flaw in the system and his posts come up as hidden and his rep was 0. This whale literally spends hours a day hunting down bad players. Be careful, i would miss your post.

I like that vision. :) lol I did do some of that recently where the new person post was like .02 and my comment was worth more. I did end up telling them about @dustsweeper though. At least the ones who were nice and upvoted me anyways. lol

It's real tough doing what I do though. I might be better off using @dustsweeper but I'll probably continue with my insanely difficult system.

Just remember you are leaving a blood trail with bots and there are orcas on the hunt. This one went after an old man who was just posting color challenges. Was fast and loose with bots. Blacklisted him, posted his name, and took his rep so low that his posts weren't even visible.

Yeah this site is like survivor. They're after me! lol My self upvotes are pretty miniscule and there are others who use big bots on comments. I only use little bots on my comments. Hopefully I might have some discord people to defend me but sometimes in life you gotta take risks. If I get shutdown I get shutdown and go back to a regular job. Without the bots I might as well already be back at a regular job although the bots don't really help me that much but I do feel they give me a slight edge although they take a LOT of work and strategy.

Yep, bots are a necessity - even for well known whales. I see a couple of people get $2 to $3 out of a post without them, but that is about it.

I was doing pretty well before I started using bots even though I was wasting a bunch of my upvotes. I think bots do give an edge though. You can lose money on bots. I recently took a major hit but it's hard to predict when Steem will fall in price.

Bots are just part of the deal. We have to accept it on here unless they change the system.
I like goldenwhale. 10¢ to 20¢ max and they always return double. It can take a day or so, though. The others are so iffy - even minnow booster. That is why I am looking forward to using kryptonia on here. The two week wait for your tokens to be freed up is awful. The ones who use it well really seem to be doing great and I already got real engagement and followers from there. Like actual engagement!

I'm not criticizing the usage of bots, btw. Hell, if a person gets on here with no investment or delegated power and works their way up with bots, then i respect that more than someone who invests in steem power and steem bucks as soon as they begin. The first involves work and learning the system, the second is like inheriting wealth and saying they worked for it like other newbies. Nope. Not the same. If you start with no steem money and no steem power and work up, that is cool.

I think bots are better than all the whales scamming the system by self upvoting.

I agree. Self voting, buying in, bots - pretty much all the same in abuse percentages in my book. Each can point fingers at the other, so just let them do it until it is fixed or another comes along. People just need to mind their own accounts and do what they think is best for them at this point.

Even with abuse I am bullish on this platform although it helps that my metrics are looking good. I think the fall in Steem does hurt me a lot though.

Between you and me - shhhh - I say do whatever it takes at a point like this. A bit of panic about the future of steemit seems to be setting in on trending pages so that will set off less activity. Use the bots to your advantage right now as long as you don't lose money.

Yeah I think it's good to try and be successful and usually that does involve some risks.
Somehow I almost missed this comment even with your upvote. You might want to make a post about that. Overall this site seems to have improved a lot since I first got on. When I first got on way back in the day it seemed like people mainly only talked about Bitcoin and other cryptos. lol
I haven't noticed too bad of a tone especially considering how bad Steem tanked.
I generally only look at the top 5 and maybe top 10 trending posts. I do always try and pay attention to what's #1. People complain a lot about the trending page but I think the Hot section is way worse.

I think when votes have value people will buy and sell them. I think you should do a review on Kryptonia. I don't think I've ever tried goldenwhale. I pretty much always use the main bots. https://steembottracker.com/

I agree. One person one vote and no crazy wild algorithm would make it different but this is the reality. Use what is at hand.
Once I am able to post tasks on Kryptonia I will review it. I can see it being a fantastic tool because you can make stipulations like vote values so that it won't be gamed.
Goldenwhale is good. 10¢ always gets me 20¢ returns. They don't vote until they can make sure your ROI is good so it can take more than a day. Sometimes two.

Any impressions on steem/sbd (and most alt coins/crypto) sinking? I personally think it has a way to go down - maybe around $1.78 for Steem - but like to hear what others say. I watched a couple of tokens people kept saying would moon and lambo and all that silly shit this month lose 50% in a day. I see a bubble like the dot com days so an adjustment is taking place. The bottom is a way off after a few more waves, i think. Not to mention ones based on crap will be gone by October.

I don't think Steem will go below $2 but who knows I think it is a steal at $2.50 but if it hits $2 you should really buy it up.
Bitcoin is bringing cryptos down. I think weak hands are cashing out of bitcoin.

I think it is $2.25 right now. I am sticking with $1.78 as bottom this year. I'm that freak who bought crypto only once (I'm one of those people you read about who ended up with 200 bitcoin for $10 at the beginning through a promo giveaway. I almost didn't want to spend the $10 because I just wanted the 100 free - lol) so buying isn't in my nature so much. Give it to me or let me earn. Steem is the only one I have actually debated buying like bitcoin. Maybe at $1.80.

No, I don't still have it all. That is always the next question. People have to remember bitcoin came out years ago and when I got mine the only places to use it were pathetic - logo designers in Idaho and crap like that. 25 would get you a bad logo for your website, etc. I think there was a pizza place in Seattle that was the only restaurant. Slim pickings. By the time it began to go up you could find a few places like tobacco shops to spend it. Holding over half just wasn't a thing. Forgetting you had it was.

Maybe you can get it for $2. I think $2 is an awesome price!
You got 200 bitcoin for $10? OMG!
You can play cautuious but hopefully you can afford to blow $200 for 100 Steem. If not then don't do it. You might want to go double though and cash in some profits whien Steem goes back up.

It was at the beginning and they kept sending me emails to take the promo. It wouldn't work on a Mac at the time so I put it off to the last day and used a university computer. My gut said to do it because my head told me no way, kiss that $10 off. Nobody even understood what the hell it was and info about it was lacking.
I will consider buying at $1.20. $1.80 sounded good but I'm not confident about it. Tomorrow I may change my mind and say 90¢ at most, or $2.00 - which is likely price in an hour or so. I've seen this before ...
Then again a huge rebound could happen. Just waiting to see if panic becomes widespread. Something just feels off.

Amazing story! Very lucky! I feel like we could hit $4 in June. lol I bet we'll at least hit $3 in June for sure.

I'm that person - maybe the only one - who thinks it all depends on adoption and usage since steemit is the biggest part of steem. 10,000 active users now probably actually equals 6,300 since multiple accounts are common. mass adoption is key to it not being gamed out of existence.
I could see $3 or $4 this summer on swings. $1.90 seems to be more of a stable level for the numbers of active users and accounting for people coming in and leaving. Of course this is crypto and an alt coin, so there really is no way to know besides the value of the blockchain to users. Steemit is the key right now for it to have value. New users staying active - what to watch.

I'm optimistic our metrics will improve. Hopefully we hit 100,000 active users this summer.
I think we will hit $4 next month. I'm not sure if we will hold that level.
Steem hit $8 less than 6 months ago.

I think there will be highs and lows. It held below a buck for a long span, then spiked in December/January and went into gradual decline since. Social media activity picks up around holidays - mostly winter ones - so I would look at late November spike. Like I said, mass adoption is key. Must break 25,000 active individuals - not accounts - or go the way of dozens of others. We will see. The good news is others are looking into development of crypto backed social media so the trend wont stop at steemit.

Yeah I was surprised it dropped below $2.50 but I think it's mostly Bitcoin's fault. Aren't we at like 60,000 daily active?

What I am seeing from whales is still 10,000 active users. They may be accounting for all the multiple accounts owned by individuals. Some get multiple accounts, invest in them, then use them to up vote all their other accounts. A big circle of upvotes for themselves. Uh oh - I gave you an idea!LOL

The number of people who still use MySpace shocked me.
Steemit has really good sign up numbers despite the time it takes to be approved. Retention looks to be the biggest problem. It bleeds users when you compare sign ups to guesstimates on active users and daily engagement

It's exhausting reading all the butthurt comments every day. I'm siding with the right to protest and it has nothing to do with disrespecting the flag or the troups. The person who suggested Kaepernick kneel was a army veteran. Good enough for me

It makes no sense when they say they are defending liberty by forcing a person doing something peaceful and legal to do something else they don't want to.
