Money Has Ears

I was on the phone with my eldest sister earlier today, and she mentioned someone we both know who always says, "I don't have money." I told her to tell the person that money has ears, so he should stop saying those words if he doesn't want it to become his reality. She couldn't stop laughing because she imagined how he would react if she teased him with it.

My memory fails me as to when I first heard the phrase (money has ears), but it has stuck with me ever since. My father also used to tell us not to say we don't have any money, even if we meant it as a joke. "It's not good," he often said.

I didn't fully understand then, but over the years, I realized it makes so much sense. Based on personal experience, if we often speak of lack, it causes stress since our focus is usually on limits. It tends to trigger a scarcity mindset, making us think more about what we don't have.

Well, my sister was so amused by the phrase and said she'd definitely quote it to anyone who says they are broke. It will be very interesting to see their reaction or response😁 Someone might think she's too philosophical, lol!

Anyway, enough of that, and it's time for our slothly savers update for week 21st. Our HIVE savings goal is nearly achieved, with only 68 remaining. It would be crossed off before next month, and it also means we need to set a new target.

We honestly don't have a definite number in mind right now, but we'll come up with something soon enough. HBD is still stuck with the previous balance, but as I said before, it's okay. No pressure.

Here's to a fantastic midweek!

Wow, your dad gave a wise advice. I also believe that constantly speaking about lack can slowly shape our thoughts into negativity. So, I usually think of positivty.

Congratz on getting so close to your HIVE target, hehe only a little more to go! 😁

It's good to be positive. It makes you think and feel better, without denying that challenges exist.

Thank you. It's a nice feeling although it's a small goal☺️
