RollerCoin - My Journey so Far and my Advice

If you have been around the web3 game grinding community for a few years, then chances are you have heard of Rollercoin. But if you haven't I will give you a quick rundown of the game first.

I started playing Rollercoin on November 17th, 2020.

The premise of the game is that you are a little nobody who starts off in a garage or living room with 1 server rack and the goal is to accumulate as many CRYPTO Mining Rigs/Servers as possible. While you are not actively mining for anything in the real world, you pretend in this game. But the coin(s) you are mining for ingame are the ones you are earning and can withdraw later.

This is me as of right now:

So the more miners you collect, the more powerful your Mining Operation is and the more you can earn and then withdraw.

Games

The main starting point for more new people is the minigames. There are mini Flash type games you can play and if you win you can gain some items (could be miners, tokens, boosted energy, boosted mining power).

If you continue to play games daily you can upgrade your PC level which will just give you a free boosted mining rate ingame. So it's great to do and easy to do but you just got to remember to win at least 1 game every 24 hours to keep that free PC mining speed up.

There are more minigames as well. They do tend to add a new game, I would say once a year or so. :)

Coins

There are a few tokens available in game.

- RLT = ingame token for economy

- RST = Rollercoin Season Token (earned in a season and reset each season)

- XRP, TRX, DOGE, BTC, ETH, BNB, POL, SOL, LTC
Those don't really need explanation.

- But you see on the image to the right, each tokens's mining power. It changes all the time based on various mining power boosts. So keep and eye and mine for what you want. Me? I mine for Polygon because it usually has the least mining power and that means I get to mine more of it and also let's me withdraw sooner.

Season Pass

Each season it is themed and there is a lot of cool stuff to earn. You can either run the Free Pass or the Gold Pass. I did the Gold Pass once (I think it cost around 120 RLT).

There are new tasks each day to earn points and while a LOT of them are in regards to spending RLT or depositing other cryptos for RLT, there is a lot for free to play players to do. I personally at this stage of my Rollercoin journey, I don't really play games anymore. Unless I am bored 1 week and there is a event going on then I may play play play to grind in that event.

Best Method to make money

I am no expert, but I have been playing this for almost 5 years or so. A little while ago they introduced "Expeditions". Basically once you acquire a Hamster you can send them on runs and if they succeed when you claim them you get a bunch of great items.

Here you can see my little guy is back from his Expedition into the "Deep Forest"

Unfortunately he didn't make it to the end. They don't 'die' so you won't lose your Hamster but they just won't get the rewards as they normally would have.

You can see some of the rewards that he started to earn until he failed. You can still claim those rewards but I wouldn't recommend it based on what it costs.

When you fail a expedition your Hamster has to rest for a LONG time. Usually they rest for 24 hours but when it looses it seems like it takes almost 48 hours.

Once you get a Hamster and start winning some expeditions you will start to accumulate miners and RLT and RST. That is key and more later on those.

Don't forget though as you use your Hamster it gains EXP and you need to level up it's stats.

RST

There is only 1 way to spend RST for me and that is on Part Cases.

It cost 40 RST per case and you get at least 174 of each part.

Why is this my method of madness? Because I get so many miners from running the expeditions that I don't have enough space. 1 easy fix to this is to merge 2 same miners into 1 at a stronger level. Why would you do that? Well instead of 2 miners taking up 2 spaces I can upgrade them into 1 miner taking up 1 space and it is more than twice the power of a single one.

Here you can see the miner "Jellier"

A rare Jellier has a Mining Power of 137.865 TH/s but if you combine 2 of them together then that new Mining Power is 361.935 TH/s. If you are counting 2 rare Jellier is 275.73 TH/s. So it is in your best interest to upgrade your miners as you can, hence my RST strategy.

The other thing too is that you need RLT for everything, but there is so many ways to earn RLT.

My Main Mining Rooms

So far I have 3 Mining Rooms and I am already run out of room. But I just wasted all my RLT on upgrades and other things. So time to start saving up my RLT to buy a 4th room!

Overview / Last Remarks

I am by no means a Rollercoin expert. I mean I am only ranked 11,949th out of 4,940,599.

This game is NOT a quick or easy way to earn crypto. But it is 100% doable to earn and set this up as a almost passive earning after a long stretch. I only open it once maybe twice a day to reup by battery and also send my Hamster out on Expeditions.

Investment

I want to be very clear before we get into earnings and such. In March of 2022 I did deposit 0.00020127 BTC which at current prices is about $22.
In 2021 I also deposited 0.10610915 ETH over the course of the year which is roughly $270 worth of Ethereum at today's prices. So let's round up to $300 of crypto that I deposited into the game.

Earnings

Where does the rubber meet the road?

So far here is everything I have withdrawn from Rollercoin

Polygon (MATIC): 95.94385194

Bitcoin (BTC): 0.0028959 BTC

Dogecoin (DOGE): 30.1333 DOGE

If you are counting that is $338.05 of crypto that has been withdrawn (at today's prices). And seeing as I deposited $270 that means I net about $68.05 worth of crypto.

There are 2 caveats to address though.

  1. The crypto I deposited was not spent well haha. I wasted a LOT of that RLT but still I was out that money.
  2. Now that I "broke even" anything I withdraw going forward it is pure profit as I am not depositing anymore.

Is it worth it?

Honestly probably not. But for me? It is worth it. There are more ways to boost your earnings and such. You can get referrals which helps a ton. You can play more and be more active. If you are starting out as a new player though you are better off putting 100% of your mining power towards RLT because you will need that the most to constantly upgrade things. There definitely is a LONG timeframe on a Return of Investment.

$1

As always. Do Your Own Research. I am just some random idiot on the internet. Rollercoin may be a total waste of time for you. Or it could be your biggest web3 crypto earner. Nobody knows except you.
