Well, yes, but Hive needs a whole lot more people coming than going, and powering up and not down! πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

We can onboard more people here on Hive somewhat easily, though them staying active long enough seems unlikely at the current Hive situation no matter how hard we would try !INDEED. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈπŸ’ΈπŸ€―

Precisely. Hive needs far more users and investors, and yet the current conditions make it extremely unattractive. It's a bugger indeed. 😁 πŸ™ πŸ’š ✨ πŸ€™

The censorship-resistance property of Hive becomes less good when posts/comments any Hive account itself gets hidden on most Hive blogging frontends !INDEED. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈπŸ€―

You've got that right indeed. A few are deciding for the many what is acceptable to view. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

While there are some Hive blogging frontends whose respective teams don't agree for blockchain-wide censorship, they don't want to lose the support of Hive Whales who want content with flags and Hive accounts with low Reputation be effectively censored !INDEED. 🀯

As I've said before, the whales control the blockchain, and really only a few of them. That doesn't work. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

We can see on the #HiveBuzz Rankings page that there are (only) three Hive accounts that have more than 10 million Hive Power, and we can't even accurately determine how many Hive accounts with lots of HP are owned by any given single person !INDEED. πŸ€―πŸ€―πŸ€“

Indeed, the power distribution on Hive is massively lopsided, especially if multiple of those accounts do belong to one individual. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

I wonder which among a hard "split" fork or a new blockchain is less worse when it comes to fixing the problems on the blockchain !INDEED. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈπŸ€―

I've actually been thinking about that recently...the idea of forking the chain to fix its glaring issues. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

Many people around Hive (especially those with significant amounts of Hive Power) would be split between two - those who support and those who are against - when a fork of Hive occurs. 🀯 There would also be people who will continue publishing posts and comments on both blockchains, though some of those who are against the fork would likely target them by flagging their content on the "new legacy" chain !INDEED. 🀯

Yeah, it's far from a preferable option, and for quite a few reasons, but it may be how the chain survives, and maybe perhaps thrives. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

I would highly prefer the flag or negative vote option be removed !INDEED, just in case any fork occurs. πŸ€”

Perhaps a fork would not necessarily exist, but rather a new social blockchain with only the "good" parts of Hive. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ

I'm not crazy about how the downvote feature has been used, so I tend to agree, or if it were to be kept, its use should be more strongly constrained as to how it can be used.

Qortal is coming alone pretty well, and QORT is also doing much better than HIVE is. Blurt is chugging along nicely too. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™
