An Introduction - Hunting Midnight by @JFuji - Book Review.

Good Morning Hivians, Bookians and Buzzers. Joining another awesome community on Hive, "Hive book club" with the inspiration to do a book review, of @jfuji's awesome new Hive book, entitled "Hunting Midnight". This review focuses on Episode 1: The ghost in the clock. Released over the last couple of months on Hive.

An intriguing start to the story, demons and evil clocks, but what do they have to do with WiFi? Well, the time has come for you to dive in, and immerse yourself in this dark, dangerous, yet enlightening and fresh new world! Link to start of story.

Summary (Without too many spoilers!)

The book is based around a small band of awesome characters, and a lot of lobsters! Alena Bisk is our "main" character, with her sidekick and roommate

"Deluxe Prime. Legally, yes, that’s her name".

We're joined by a few other characters as the story progresses but I'll let you find those and the Lobsters, as you read into the story!

The group is faced with some monumental challenges, from demons to evil clocks! Does this all have something to do with the WiFi? Whilst this could sound like a horror novel, it's more of a fantasy adventure, with comedy and touching moments throughout!

“Couldn’t fix the wifi. But renamed some of your poorly labelled folders.” She released my elbow and handed me the computer. “Let’s go!”

Sloth overview!

The story really does hook you in right from the get-go, with awesome descriptions of characters and scenes, brilliant dialogue and nail-biting tension to keep you hooked and wanting more! There's a twist around every corner so it's almost impossible to tell what's going to happen next!

Each part leaves you on a cliffs edge, I regularly found myself imagining what could happen to our characters. What might be planned by our mysterious villains. Time and again the author managed to turn the episode into a series of different directions with such ease, it was a pleasure to read!

@jfuji manages to draw you in time and again with small substories around each of the main characters, how will their lives turn out, and how to be young carefree adults in such times of disarray and upheaval! I for one, can't wait to follow along with the continuation of the series!

Conclusion

For me, this is the perfect book / story. Having it pre-broken into bite-sized chunks is great for a sloth! I can read at my own pace without falling too far behind. The story is gripping, inclusive and fun! The continuous twists and turns will keep the most avid readers hooked, waiting for more! This is the BEST novel I've read on Hive, so the bar is set really high for future episodes!
