Daily Hive Raffles, a Hive Grove experiment, where does it lead?

Good afternoon, buzzers. Yesterday, during my morning routine, I swung through Grove and checked in with my usual Hive hotspots. I mentioned that the Slothbuzzcurate account reached 10,00 HP while I was stopping by the Hive Grove Campfire. (Delegate to Slothbuzzcurate to support your fellow slothbuzz users, get 90% of the Hive payouts instantly back into your wallet!)

Sloth looking to share some buzz and give away some HSBI

Someone said they were going to delegate their only HP, less than 20, and I tried to stop them. I was too sloth, and they'd delegated before I had the chance to tell them not to. Unfortunately, they delegated to HiveGrove, not Slothbuzzcurate, but either way, the low HP means they'd be struggling for RC! I decided to delegate 50 HP back to the account, then I thought, why not throw in a few HSBI to help them keep buzzing on Hive!

This led to the next thing: why not do a daily HiveSBI raffle. And the cogs started turning. The easiest way would be to do it manually, either with a post on Hive like this one, or a short-form thread in Hive Grove campfire, Peakd snaps, Ecency Waves, or Slothbuzz Hangs!

What could go wrong: make a post, get some replies, pick a winner!

Of course, my first attempt was derailed before it even started; my initial post wasn't easy enough to follow. I sometimes forget people from all around the world can access and read our posts, some using translators, some simply using their 'basic' English skills. Now, that's not to say 'fluent' English speakers are any better at reading or understanding things. Heck, have you seen the way I write! It's all over the place! Plus, we all read things differently and can easily miss context clues, which can make writing seem sarcastic or humorous, for example. Not sure how I ended up going down this rabbit hole haha! Anyways, the main point: I wasn't clear enough and had to have a redo before it even got started

I currently have a thread in Hive Grove. You simply leave a comment with another player's username; I will run a raffle and pick the winning comment. The commenter and the player they tagged will each win 1 HiveSBI!

You can view this on any front end, Peakd here, or Slothbuzz here, for example, so it's actually open to all of Hive, not just Hive-grove players! For now, though, it's contained in the Hive Grove daily thread.

Ideally, I would have a bot/website that lets me do this without manually creating a post each day and running the raffle; however, maybe that's the most effective way...we'll see. I've mentioned it to the Slothbuzz.com dev, but he's a busy sloth! It may take some time to implement, so I've also shared the idea with Shiftrox; if he can implement a Hive Grove raffle system, I'm more than happy to sponsor the raffles through there!

Sloth seeking a developer for a Raffle bot

Sloth and steady wins the race, after all. Let's see if we can make a buzz with these threads for now, giving the sloth more manual work to do, then we'll try set things up with a bot and/or raffle page...who knows, maybe we could add something to the code of the !SLOTH bot to make a raffle too... that could be interesting!

Currently, I give away HSBI in the weekly #SlothlySavers club. I'm always looking for more ways to build engagement and community; maybe I need to look into sponsoring more events. In fact, I think I'll also add a daily draw onto the Shw-game daily posts. Manually for now, but maybe the Sloths Mining War dev can add the feature too! We can have raffles everywhere and lose all the buzz already haha!

HSBI (HiveSteemBasicIncome) is a great tool for me and whoever I support with it; getting even a tiny extra vote on every post helps keep the buzz alive and my HP growing overall! Sloth steps, but we keep on buzzing in the right direction!

Until next time,
Sloth out!
