ZINGTOBER Day 05 — DEER Typography (NAARA)

Hey everyone, it’s me again with my INKTOBER 2025 post! This one’s still hosted by @holozing. Feel free to check the full details at the link: ZINGTOBER2025

Today, I joined Inktober Day Five with the theme DEER. And of course, the first character that popped into my mind was NAARA, the deer who always carries that soft yet elegant charm.

As usual, I started with a basic sketch. I didn’t overthink it too much at first—just let my hand flow naturally across the digital canvas.

Once the text for the body was done, I moved on to the head. Here, I used a few guidelines to help position the eyes and snout, keeping them proportional but still with that cute, deer-like expression.

The most exciting part for me was creating the tail. I wanted to do something different, so I shaped the word “NAARA” with gentle curves resembling a tail. It was so satisfying watching the letters gradually come together, forming a silhouette of a lively little deer.

After finishing the main shape, I added some small accessories to make NAARA look more alive—like the snout, hooves, and antlers, all drawn in a detailed vector style. Then I erased all the guide lines to keep things clean.

Once I placed a black background, everything instantly came to life—the word “DEER” looked like it had its own soul.

And well… here it is!

This typographic version of NAARA feels light and cheerful, exactly the vibe I had in mind from the start. I hope this piece also brings a smile to your face when you see it.
