Day of 2026-06-15: Operational Improvements On and Off the Blockchain
After returning to the "20s" price level last week, things have started moving up again. That said, the recovery does not materially change my broader assessment. If anything, people will go take it as affirmation to the overall scam argument. Price movement alone is not sufficient evidence to invalidate a thesis. Markets can move higher, lower, or sideways while the underlying concerns remain unchanged.
This is why I try to separate market action from narrative validation. A temporary recovery may affect positioning, but it does not automatically resolve structural questions.
Barefoot Shoes in the Office
The first full office week with barefoot shoes produced some interesting observations.
Public Transit Experience
Taking public transit was a completely different sensation. The increased ground feedback changes how movement is perceived, making everyday walking feel much more connected to the surface underneath.
Concrete Steps
Concrete stairs produced a particularly unusual feeling. The surface details that would normally be filtered out by conventional footwear become far more noticeable.
Indoor Movement
One unexpected effect was losing the usual feeling that shoes somehow do not belong inside a building. The experience becomes more uniform—almost as if being barefoot everywhere, while still maintaining protection.
Running
Running was where the difference stood out most. Movement felt lighter and more effortless, almost as if carrying less weight.
A Practical Warning
The main drawback observed so far is traction in wet conditions. Depending on the surface, rain can make things surprisingly slippery. That is something to keep in mind before assuming the footwear performs equally well across all environments. Try be in time.
Improving the Everyday Carry Setup
I added a conference organizer to my setup. The backpack itself is intentionally simple: one small compartment and one main section, with a dedicated laptop divider. The downside is that smaller items such as chargers, cables, and accessories tend to drift around freely.
The organizer solves that problem by creating a dedicated DIN-A4-sized module that I can insert or remov' as needed. Instead of searching through the bag, the entire equipment package becomes portable as a single unit. Maybe switching to a smaller format, cause DIN-A4 can get clunky.
This is a small operational improvement, but those tend to compound over time by reducing friction and saving attention.
Dishwasher Upgrade in Progress
The dishwasher replacement is moving forward. The outgoing machine was a no-name model that helped my parents for more than twenty years. Regardless of specifications, that level of service deserves recognition.
Efficiency as a Selection Criterion
The replacement target is an efficiency class C machine, with a focus on reducing long-term operating costs and resource consumption. The interesting part is the time horizon. Even if the efficiency gains prove modest, the machine should still be operational long after the children have moved out for studies and after my parents are no longer around.
That shifts the purchase from a short-term appliance decision toward a long-duration infrastructure investment.
Portfolio Movement (9 Jun → 15 Jun)
Changes over this period, expressed in percentage terms:
$ACE: ➖ approximately +0.001%
$BBH: 📈 approximately +2.03%
$BBHO: 📉 approximately -1.15%
$BTC: 📉 increase in short exposure (~4.45% increase in magnitude)
$DAB: 📈 approximately +3.19%
$LTC: 📈 reduction in short exposure (~2.68% decrease in magnitude)
$MATIC, $SURGE, $TGLD, $TNVDA, $TTSLA: ➖ 0% (no change)
Several themes stand out: $DAB continued to grow, reinforcing its increasing role within the portfolio, $BBH exposure increased while $BBHO declined modestly.
