Day of 2026-05-10: Managing a Hectic Week Before Mother’s Day
The week leading into Mother’s Day weekend was hectic. Periods like this tend to reduce available bandwidth, and that matters. When external obligations increase, I try not to force additional trading activity just to stay active.
Process first, activity second.
Small Improvements Compound
I found time to take care of the plants, and the process was surprisingly similar to portfolio management. The issue was simple: insufficient light for proper growth. The solution was adding thin foil to reflect and intensify available light.
After running that setup for two weeks, the stems are growing—but there’s still room for improvement.

That mirrors how I think about systems in trading and investing. You don’t always need a complete overhaul. Sometimes small environmental adjustments can materially improve outcomes over time. The key is observing whether the change actually works before scaling it further.
