The Eleven O'clock Magic
Magandang buhay💛
A call to Dad made us leave our lil cocoon here in DD for a short while yesterday and drove to BC for some urgent matters. The weather cooperated, thankfully, with the sky clearing for some time, allowing us to travel in peace. It also gave us a chance to watch the rose mosses in our small yard show off their bright colors.

After observing them for a while, I realized their petals open when the sky is clear and close when it's grey.
"Ain't that magical?" I asked the hubby with a sense of wonder. "If you say so," he said with a hint of tease. He refuses to call it magic, saying it's just the plant's nature. It's how they were programmed to do.
But to me, it's spectacular magic.
My interest was piqued, so I did a quick search. Results indicated these plants are native to hot, dry regions in South America, and their primary pollinators are active in warm conditions (that explains why they bloom in the sunshine and close tightly in dark clouds). I also learned these rose mosses are also called "Time Flowers" or "Eleven O'clock" for the same reason.
The fact that the plants can read the sky and react to it perfectly is fascinating, and I say it again, truly magical.
For a moment, I thought the rosemary bloomed too😅Anyway, after taking care of things and enjoying the little things in BC, we bade my old man goodbye and headed to the valley for a quick conversation with my nephew who was in charge of the Lil Kingdom. Everything is okay, he said. Good. Great. Awesome.
We left and arrived home (DD) just before the sky turned totally dark. A day well-spent, I say.
Meanwhile, hump day went by with a mix of gentle breeze, drizzle, and more rain, allowing us to slow down (again) and save our energy for tomorrow's long drive.
Speaking of saving, here's a quick view of my week 31st in my Slothly goal on-chain.
| YE Goal | Current Balance | Last Week | Growth (+ / -) | To Go | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HIVE | 2000 | 1738 | 1663 | 75 | 262 |
75 HIVE for the week. At current prices, the amount isn't that significant, but it's still growth, and I'm thankful.
Keeping on for sure. Cheers🥂
