I have my husband's old phone and it's reached a point where it can't be untethered from the charging cord. As I never take it anywhere except the hospital, I don't mind it. It just sits next to my chair waiting for me to come vegetate on TikTok while I rest. I don't make calls on it and sometimes text. And take cat photos... :)) The cord is long enough for these things.

A bit of a latter-day throwback to the days when you could only take the phone as far as the cord reached!
One of the exciting things in college was going to Radio Shack and getting a 50-foot phone cord. Such freedom of movement!
