Think about your drink

1000027551.jpg

Some of us need a cup of coffee to energise ourselves to get started the day, others a cup of tea to relax later on. Others like a beer at the end of the working day, a whisky or glass of wine to take the edge off, and some just like water knowing it's the best thing to keep them hydrated. We all have specific and personal choices when it comes to what we drink and I'm no different.

I'm a bit of all of them to be honest and choose the most appropriate drink for the given moment.

I love a glass of wine with dinner sometimes, an occasional scotch whiskey or two, but I don't over-drink alcohol. I consume around two litres of water a day, but also around 5-6 cups of coffee. I love tea, Earl Grey and English Breakfast usually, but will slam down a Pepsi Max when the moment calls for it...I choose the right drink at the right time for me and there's no real rules; who wants rules around what they drink?

What's your drink

Here's your chance to think about your drink and answer that question in the comments below - and add a picture or two as well. Here's what you do. 👇🏼

Take a picture, or use one you have personally taken previously, of your favourite drink, or a couple of them, and share them in a comment below then in 50 words or less tell me why you like it so much.

I'll be dropping some upvotes on comments and, as usual, will give bigger votes on the more interesting, creative and fun ones.

Coffee keeps me awake during study sessions, while milk tea feels like a mini reward after a long day. I guess we all have that ‘right drink for the right moment’ thing going on too

Malt has been my favorite drink 🍷 for awhile now, I don't know why but I just love it. If otherwise I could pick water. Or sometimes fruit juice. But malt is still my best. Thank you.

I'm a bit of all of them too. Dependent on the occasion of course.

I always turbo charge with water throughout the day and again like you have a similar amount of coffee. These things just make everything a bit better and I'm good with that!

I can't imagine an AM train trip to work without a cup of the good stuff, without said cup one would be better off to kill oneself by jumping in front of the train.

I have to drink some of it quick do that my morning grumpiness doesn't make me stab people in the head with my cup 🤣

Cup stabbings, one must be ready for them...or to do them. Thankfully coffee reduced the occurrence of it, but it still happens I guess.

I agree on both counts. I'm a little concerned about the next one...big shoes to fill. I'm worried society's proclivity for the odd will mean a fat, disabled, lesbian, non-gender specific, unemployed, left-wing minority guy will be the next Bond. You know, got to keep things fair for all.

Yep, that's on the blockchain.

Yeah man, I worried about the same. I was convinced they would make Bones female at the very least.

Hopefully they keep a grip 😀

I usually drink Ceylon tea in the morning, but occasionally I drink a blackberry beer after work to gain mental freedom and energy. When I taste the blackberry flavor, I feel a certain natural chill, which allows me to have free thoughts for a while.

Hello!
One of my favorite drinks is beer because of its refreshing taste, especially given the very hot climate I live in Cuba, which in itself encourages us to enjoy a cold beer every now and then, whenever the economy allows, since they have become very expensive to obtain.
Whenever I can, I try to find a German dark beer, which is my favorite, but sometimes it's very difficult to find, and I have to settle for a domestic beer.
I hope you have a beautiful day!
Hugs of light!
Cheers!

An ice cold beer can certainly make the end of a long hot day a little more pleasant. May your economy permit you to partake whenever you like!

Certainly, around here, a cold beer is always associated with hot days. In general, Venezuelan beer varies between 4.5 and 6 degrees of alcohol, but a friend who visited Cuba many years ago told me that Cuban beer has much more alcohol and the amount per bottle is also greater.

Hello!
Yes, Cubans generally prefer strong beer. I particularly like German or Dutch dark beer.
Regarding the quantity of beer, don't they sell beer in one-liter bottles over there in Venezuela anymore?
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hugs!

"What's your drink?"

Well I am glad you asked Mr.G. this week/month I am favoring the Welch's Grape drink. Not the 💯 % grape 🍇 drink. That is just too damn strong. The watered down version that says from concentrate on the bottle has far less bite too it.

We don't have that here but we have a brand called Ribena that I think would be the same, or similar; I used to drink it as a kid, but too much sugar for the old boy these days. Lol.

I'm addicted to cider vinegar. in case of emergency, we have 100 bottles stored under the stairs.

Along with a couple of hundred jars of coffee, because, well, who can live without it?

Mixed with water. It's a great thirst quencher and might even be good for you.

I've heard it has some health benefits, just didn't know how it's consumed; now I know.

I prefer my apples in apple pie with vanilla ice cream. 🤔

Wow, you're really prepared, always having what you like and what's important to you in stock. I guess you must do a lot of other things under the stairs too 😝.

I recently tried making my own apple cider vinegar, and it was very easy. I still have it stored at the stage in the process where, according to the instructions, I will be able to extract “the mother” of the vinegar, although it is already ready to be consumed.

Right now, at this very moment! Tereré, which is cold mate, made with yerba mate, ice water, lemon and lots of ice, ideal for the heat, refreshing the body and surviving. My favourite drink for the summer, I drink more than three litres a day, I love it!

It's the only way to cool down in summer, otherwise I'd burn up, ha ha ha. I'm a fan of cold drinks! They cool me down from the inside. And they're sugar-free too!

Wow, I was shocked by the amount. I've never tried matte, but I want to, more to satisfy my curiosity than because I'm attracted to the grassy flavor, but three liters seemed like a lot to me too, ha ha ha. But you also drink water on its own throughout the day, which I think is important for your kidneys.

I need to drink cold things or I burn up inside, ha ha ha. Mate is delicious, but I only started drinking it when I was 24 and now I can't give it up! Thank you!

Don't hate me but I drink vegetable drink, that's made of rice, I also like oat one and your favorite, the almond one... That when it's not cold, it's good to start the day with something fresh and not water... If it's cold, I take a green tea

I've been drinking some decaffeinated green tea this week. I was dealing with a bit of a cold or allergies or something and I needed to get a nice hot beverage down to loosen up the chest congestion and give me those antioxidants!

I'm slamming down a cup of coffee, my only cup of the day, right now. I am not gonna take a picture of it! Because I can't find my phone! So you'll have to imagine the periwinkle blue fiesta coffee mug filled to the brim (it still counts as only one cup!) with a fresh brew. Also, picture the chocolate banana muffin a friend of mine just dropped off at my side door. It's all good.

One cup of coffee in the mid morning, one cup of tea in the mid afternoon, both accompanied with a little something sweet. Water the rest of the live long day, except for occasional cocktails when I go out with a friend. Do not ever offer me kombucha! I present to some as a crunchy granola type, but man does that stuff ever turn me right off. It's at the bottom of my desires list, down there with sea urchin. Sorry I got off topic.

"Only cup of the day". Sometimes I wish I was that guy, the one cup a day guy. Many more for me though. Although, if that cup is the size of a bucket.

I actually don't mind kombucha now and then but that's more to do with the fact I have to limit other (overly sweet) things quite severely than loving it. I don't like sea urchin though...although have not ever, not will not, try it.

Donuts though...

Now I'm getting off topic.

I drink coffee in the morning and water the rest of the day.

My favorite is an iced caramel macchiato. This photo I took last year at breakfast near the ocean in Pismo Beach at the Lido Restaurant.

Wife's favorite is the dry ice appletini in Las Vegas.

You buggers know how to drink!

I'm not a massive alcohol drinker but I reckon I'd give that appletini a go, just for dry ice "cool factor".

Same here, I don't drink alcohol at all.

The reason it's her favorite is because of the "cool factor" more than the taste. They pour it at the table in front of you and make a nice presentation while doing it.

Well, if I'm ever wherever you are I'll buy you a non-alcoholic drink and I'll have an appletini along with your partner and we can hang out and talk bullshit, tell lies and have a few laughs...than I'll get back onto the non-alcoholic drinks and roll on from there. Pizza too.

I'm sure we can solve all of Hive's the world's problems.

Coffee will always be my first choice, but right now I'm trying to drink it without sugar. But that Appletini really caught my attention. Wow, I looked it up online and it's an apple martini described as “smooth and appetizing.” I'd love to try it, so I'll get on it 😎😝.

Your issue with sugar in coffee applies to me too! I normally use hazelnut creamer and am trying to use much less to reduce sugar intake.

The apple martini is from Mastro's Ocean Club in Las Vegas. I hope you get a chance to try it! Here is a short video on Google maps of the presentation when they pour and it fizzles and smokes. https://maps.app.goo.gl/oK5PrJoML9izGwWN8

Mastro's Ocean Club is definitely a luxurious and beautiful place 😍. Wow, even the preparation of the Appletini catches the attention of other diners who look on curiously. Of course, one thing is the drink and another is the way it is served. To be honest, I don't think I'll ever make it as far as Las Vegas in this lifetime, although I have been to Florida (Orlando and Miami). I live in Venezuela, but just seeing these experiences through other people's eyes amazes me, which is why I appreciate you sharing this kind of content.

My favourite drink is definitely matcha, sometimes with milk, then it's matcha latte. Been my favourite drink for more than a decade, but I do notice that it's getting more popular on social media these days. I enjoy the unique bitter taste and sources say it's packed with anti-oxidants too!

I've never tried Matcha. In fact, I haven't seen it here in my city. It's possible that I could find it among imported products, but I associate it with tea and it doesn't really appeal to me. However, I suppose it must have many health benefits, so I'm glad you enjoy it.

You mention that it's been your favorite drink for about 10 years. I'd love to know why that is and what made the difference. Greetings from Venezuela 🤗.

For me, it will always be coffee. In fact, I have a “love-hate relationship” with it. I can drink coffee at any time of day, although I am trying to limit my caffeine intake in the evening to see if I can stop getting up to go to the bathroom.

I loved the thread of this post. I really enjoyed all the comments, the unusual drinks for me, certain tastes, and even more so the sense of humor behind it all😝😆.
