Showing Up Daily - Harder than it Sounds.

Showing up daily sounds simple, but anyone who’s tried it knows it’s one of the hardest habits to build. Life gets busy. Motivation fades. Energy dips. And yet, some people still manage to show up, create, engage, support others, and even run entire communities on top of it. Those people deserve real credit — because what they’re doing isn’t easy, and it certainly isn’t accidental.
I’ve realized something about myself: even on the days when I do show up, it takes effort. Some days it feels natural. Other days it feels like dragging myself uphill with no momentum. And that’s exactly why I respect the builders, moderators, curators, and project leads across Hive even more. They don’t just show up — they carry weight for others too. They keep things moving when the rest of us are tired, distracted, or dealing with life.
I know I couldn’t do what they’re doing right now. Even though I have the desire to do better, something always seems to get in the way. A challenge pops up. A responsibility pulls me in a different direction. A priority shifts. And suddenly the day is gone. It’s not lack of interest — it’s just life happening at full speed.
But here’s the truth I keep coming back to:
You don’t have to be perfect to be consistent.
You just have to keep returning.
Progress isn’t loud. It’s not dramatic. It’s built through small, repeatable actions that don’t look like much in the moment:
- Writing one more post
- Leaving one more comment
- Learning one more thing
- Supporting one more creator
- Improving your process by 1%
These tiny steps don’t feel impressive, but they compound. They build momentum. They create habits. And eventually, they turn into something meaningful.
I’m really trying to take all of this to heart and follow the example so many of you set every day. Not perfectly. Not flawlessly. Just consistently — in my own way, at my own pace.
If you’re reading this, here’s your reminder:
- You don’t need a perfect plan.
- You don’t need a bull market.
- You don’t need a viral post.
- You just need to keep going.
One day at a time.
One action at a time.
One improvement at a time.
And if today is one of those “low‑energy” days (which we all have)? That’s fine too. Show up anyway, even if it’s just a small step.
Even if it’s just a comment. Even if it’s just reading and learning.
I will continue to try and be present on a daily basis here on Hive. I am creating this post to help others but to also help motivate myself to keep going. To continue what I started doing 5 years ago where I was posting on a daily basis and did not think about it at all. There are lots of people on Hive that keep on keeping on. I want to follow their lead.
Because showing up daily is harder than it sounds.
But it’s also more powerful than it looks.
This is why COMMUNITY is so important. 😎
If every community member gives and does what they can, we will all grow together regardless of the challenges we all personally face.
If people also share their personal challenges, hey you never know there could be a person in the community that can solve it or help.
Every single member of the We Are Alive Tribe is appreciated and cherished regardless of their ability to take part in the building of it.
Their presence is all we ask here, remenber our purpose.
This is what makes our community different from all others, it isn't about what you can give to us but what we can give you and support you in.
Have the greatest weekend let us know if you need support, we maybe able to solve it or just love you through it but know we are here to support you @darmst5339
