Cardinals are Pretty but can be irritating

This winter and spring there have been more cardinals visiting my home as compared to prior years. I have lived in Texas all my life and five years ago retired and moved further south to the central Texas hill country.

Otherside is a tree close to the house. Lately a cardinal has made this tree its home during the day. No clue where it goes at night.

The part that bothers me is that it sits on the door handle and taps at its reflection in the glass door most of the day for hours on end.

When i walk by the door it flies up into the tree and then slmost immediately returns after i am out of sight. There are times when it flies away if i stand there to long just to appear on the other side of the house by the guest room where it attacks it reflection in that window.

It may be a totally different bird but the timing is about right for it to have flown to the other side of the house. There are several around. Here are a few enjoying the edge of the pool like humans do just sunning themselves and relaxing.

I think this one sees itself in the pool but i never saw it attack it’s reflection like the other one did in thr window or the door.

It sounds like the cardinal is quite taken with its own reflection.
Birds often do this because they think their reflection is another bird.
