5 Years playing Splinterlands

Today when I was working my land plots in the Splinterlands game, I noticed that I had started "Battling" back in 2021. That is 5 years which I had not really thought about before. During that time, I went to SplinterFest in Vegas thru which I received "The Gambler" title.

As I looked at my game play, I mostly played Modern and Wild formats for over 30,000 matches. I am just amazed that I have been involved in the game for that long.

I tried Survival mode but could not get the hang of it but part of that was probably that I did not have the extra cards to play with. In the Frontier mode, I am not even winning 50% of my matches. Part of that is that I am still trying to get cards to level up my summoners.

Land plots are part of my main focus now. However I guess my problem is that I do not have enough older or leveled up cards to have a large amount of production power on each plot. I would say I am just getting by but boy do I love harvesting my land and getting the extra resources which I trade for DEC which I put back into my land plots.

On of my plots I have turned into a SPS shard mine. I do not have that much production power staked on the plot however it is producing me a modest amount of SPS around 0.138 per hour. I would love to increase this to double or triple that level but it will take time since I am growing all of my gaming assets from what can be produced on the Hive ecosystem.

The Runi card is one of my favorites however since I no longer do matches in the Wild Format, I have my Runi staked to one of my land plots. The good news about the Runi is that it provides a 100% boost to my production of resources on that plot so I am very pleased with that.

A lot has changed over the past 5 years with Splinterlands. I have been playing so long that my assets have grown over that time. I am no longer that newbie that new next to nothing about crypto and Web3 gaming. I now know enough to understand that my knowledge is just the tip of the iceburg compared to everything crypto out there.

Now with that we have entered another crypto downturn, several players have been divesting of their gaming assets. But this is nothing different than not to long after I first started where crypto declined after a major move upwards.

Crypto is not really boom and bust but is similar to the real world economy. There will be ups and downs and it is all how you deal with it at the time.

Like now would be the perfect time for me to add more gaming assets if I can just get the funds together.

Do you love playing Splinterlands and what is your strategy -- growing, steady or declining?
