RE: Finally A "good" Health Update

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

I'm in the US. The ER doesn't do anything for chronic issues, or even emergencies. Last time I went to the ER they released me with "no findings' or treatments-I had a partially collapsed lung and a hernia. I was at the ER because my vitals kept crashing including my 02 levels. They didn't take me seriously because the paramedic said it was "just anxiety". The test results were right there. This is...the norm for women with chronic illnesses all over the world unfortunately. drs just don't listen or even look at test results. There was yet another recent study that showed exactly this. That women are labeled with "anxiety" and not treated even when they get the same test results as men who are treated. Same for women's pain, not taken seriously or treated even when things like imaging show structural damage.

Healthcare is so expensive and I am gaslit by drs 95%+ of the time. It takes years for diagnosis. Unfortunately if you are female and already have other female dominant illnesses it's even worse. No one believes you. Drs are still to this day diagnosing hysteria, just under a different name.

My bloodwork has never once come back completely normal but that never mattered. it shouldn't take decades (onset in childhood) for diagnoses but it's happened to me more than once. I am not the only one. This is how all women with chronic illnesses are treated all over the world.
Thanks for you support. !BBH !UNI

It is sad; once, a few years back, I went to an arthritis doc at my DIL's insistence. The doc I was seeing was female. Even though it's evidenced through just visually looking at me, that I have arthritis. Anyway, she kept asking me if everything was okay at home. It didn't take me long to say adios to her and never go back, even though she did have an X-ray done of my back where it was indicated I had moderate arthritis there. That was 11 years ago and I've not been to a doc since for anything.

I just deal with things on my own. It makes one a little gun-shy to even think about going to a doc.

I don't even know what to say; docs do not want to treat all of you-just pieces of you, and that's a whole another story altogether.

Take care and hang in there. 🤗

I am so sorry. It's awful to be dismissed and though drs and healthcare workers are supposed to ask once if you are safe at home (to every patient) they often get fixated that women's physical problems are (emotional) stress. This does not happen to men as a default unless you are a man of color or have female dominant conditions. It dates back to Freud who was a raging misogynist and has caused countless harm to everyone, especially women. I hope you are dealing with it the best you can. it's not uncommon for women to avoid the dr altogether when new or worsening symptoms arise because of dr's failure to treat and medical trauma. !BBH

I am dealing so far, but someday, maybe sooner than later, I will have to go get my hip looked at. I at this point would like 2 things; 1-to get an x-ray of the area and I want to see it-not just take the doc's word, and 2-to get a complete blood panel done and have an honest discussion about what the results show, if anything. It's been suggested by friends to seek a naturalpath that can look at you as a whole but also be able to prescribe regular meds should they be needed.

I just haven't gotten to the place yet in my head.

Thank you for responding; take care and have a lovely day! !LADY

Or a DO, they also tend to do integrative medicine. Also OMT feels great .My suggestion for blood work is to make sure they are checking your sed rate and hs-crp . This will help show systemic inflammation if it's there. It's not always checked. Yes it's good we can access our records including radiology reports ourselves. I found so many things drs ignored after the fact just looking at the imaging reports. !BBH

Good to know. Now, eventually, I'll figure out who to go see and hopefully figure out some treatment that doesn't involve all kinds of drugs! Take care my friend and keep moving ahead! 🤗🌹 !LADY
