Breakfast of Champions! Lol!

How incredibly lucky I am to be surrounded by so much love...

It is so easy to forget what treasure you have when you get caught up in the stresses of everyday life. It's work, homework, school, kids, chores, money, and all the adulting we need to do.

This Mother's Day started off with breakfast in bed. Bacon, Eggs, Beans, and Toast, all made by the kids!

I was then treated to an ENORMOUS array of gifts from my beautiful family.

Chocolates from my boys, @merenludick and @matthew-williams, and an enormous bunch of flowers from my precious Aime.

She also gifted me a completely locally made hot sauce, made by a father-son team. It is delicious!!! Apparently, they have quite a few flavours, so I will have to try them all!

This one went so well with my Mother's Day treat dinner, made by @zakludick 😍

I was also gifted this lovely big bag of instant chai latte. It is the best brand on the market here at the moment, and you can only buy it at one particular pharmacy. Normally, I buy 2 or 3 single-serving sachets when I am there, and I stare longingly at this big bag.

Aside from gifts, each child handcrafted beautiful and inventive cards for me, filled with words of love and appreciation. They meant so much!

I spent most of the day in bed, but in the afternoon, we had my mom over for tea.

We were gifted two enormous sourdough loaves and a sourdough starter, handmade by my mom, and she was treated to handmade cards from the kids.

I packed her a special box of my baked treat to take home and enjoy with friends (or keep them all to herself! Hehehehehe!).

On Saturday, I baked us some amazing assorted chocolate banana loaf treats! I made my usual two loaves, one of which we absolutely demolished for tea with mum,

and some experimental, smaller "muffins" if I can call them that, in my beautiful silicone baking trays. I made hearts and tiny little bundt cakes! It was my first time using the bundt cake tray, and they turned out beautifully!

Additionally, I made a smaller loaf with just the chocolate mixture, which was left over, but that unfortunately fell over into the oven and onto the heart muffins, which caused them to overfill. Although they were delicious, they didn't really retain their shape.

We managed to salvage most of the mixture for the smaller loaf, as the silicone heart and bundt trays were placed in a huge baking pan, which caught the mixture instead of it spilling over into the oven itself, which would have been a nightmare to clean and a very wasteful use of beautiful batter!

Anyway! Mother's Day was an absolute treat for everyone, especially me, and we all got to spend some special quality time with our families. Which is absolutely the point.
