π²πͺπ₯πππβ¨Christmas At The Mobey Williams/ Ludick Household Part 2!π²πͺπ₯πππβ¨

I must admit it has taken me a few days to recover, but Christmas Eve was such a blessed event.
We even got to extend our table a bit as @zakludick 's mum and husband joined us at the last minute!

@zakludick and I managed to pull off some kind of Christmas miracle, and we were able to put gifts under the tree and fill up the stockings (with my mom's help too!).
I am so grateful that my mom's incredible and truly magical ability to make Christmas special, no matter how tight the budget, was passed on to me.
I love that or advent calendars, Christmas baubles many of our Christmas decorations, our Christmas cookies and stockings were all handcrafted, either by close friends or by us.

The stockings were made by the children and my mom many years ago, while I was still living with her.

Aren't these Christmas cards just beautiful? I love how my mom has been using her time as a retiree to revisit her art. She is truly talented.

We have also taught our children how important it is to be able to make and give meaningful Christmas cards, even if they don't have money to buy presents. I must admit, these made me cry!

These handmade advent calendars were such a wonderful investment! It also means I get to fill them with whatever chocolates I feel like and they are so far superior to those cardboard ones you buy at the shop. They were handmade by our very close friend, Suzanne, who also happens to be responsible for getting @zakludick and I together in the first place!

As for the baubles, they are also super special, handmade by my friend Storm, they are perfectly individualized for each one of us - including our names!

This year, we saved these and the star at the top of the tree, as well as our handmade Christmas cookies for when my mom arrived so that she could feel like she was part of the process of decorating the tree!

The food was absolutely incredible. From roast chicken, to pork belly and even a roast lamb, which I have never tried before, everything turned out to be so delicious! I tried to extend the cooking over a few days and that took a lot of pressure off me. The kids, @aimeludick @merenludick and @matthew-williams were also extremely helpful. I also did the Christmas shopping with Zak in a wheelchair s that I took the pressure off my back and knees. I must admit, it was very well planned out and the food was decadently and gorgeously delicious!

We spend Christmas day napping, eating leftovers and watching series. I must admit, it was the perfect day, starting with trifle for breakfast!
The trifle, funnily enough, was the thing I started with first, and that is because everything need to to soak and settle before adding the final touches of cream and garnish. By the end of Christmas eve though, we were so stuffed and tired that we didn't make t to dessert! Which of curse, sited me just fine as there was more trifle for ME!! Hehehehee. I made
We each received biltong from my mom, which of course, we had to share with the cats! I mean, just look at that face!
Squeek took hers and ran for the hills. Lol. She she is such a skittish girl. trifles, two vanilla and one chocolate. personally, I think the chocolate one was the best one!

Christmas eve itself was incredible as served (dangerously delicious) punch

, a selection of cheeses, to keep everyone happy and we only finished around midnight, hence the trifle being left for the next day!

It's wonderful to see you all sharing this time as a family with such fantastic gifts and wonderful cards! Congratulations!
