Another week, another #slothlysavers update - Week 7

TLDR: recovery is progressing, walking distance is back to normal, speed still needs work. Job hunt continues. House is being reorganized for wheelchair life. Hive growth is modest but steady.

Another week, another #slothlysavers update - Week 7.

If this were a Netflix series, this would be that mid-season episode where nothing explodes, but you start seeing who’s actually going to make it to the end.

Recovery: distance back, speed still loading

Let’s start with the good stuff.

I’m back to my normal walking distances again. That’s a big milestone.

After surgery, going from 10k–15k steps per day to under 1k was humbling. Borderline insulting to the ego. Now the distances are back where they used to be.

Next mission: speed.

Because distance without pace is like Hive Power without voting mana. It works, but it’s not optimized.

Actifit posts are coming back regularly. Not because I suddenly have tons of time. But because movement is non-negotiable. Health compounds too. And right now that’s the priority asset class. Unfortunately, we are in the midst of a really bad weather front again, so maybe not today. Or tomorrow.

Professional uncertainty still in play

Still actively looking for a new project before summer hits. No panic. But no illusions either. If no replacement is found, savings slow down. Fiat slows down. Hive slows down. That’s just math.

And here’s the uncomfortable truth: when income uncertainty increases, mental load increases. And mental load is the invisible tax nobody talks about.

So the focus is simple: Keep optionality alive. Have conversations. Move forward daily, even if it’s small steps.

House renovation, wheelchair edition

And then there’s the house.

We’re actively reorganizing everything to better facilitate our daughter with the wheelchair. If you’ve ever tried moving heavy furniture while recovering from surgery, you’ll understand the irony.

It’s not quick. It’s not light. And it’s definitely not “just a weekend project”.

But it’s necessary, and honestly, it shifts perspective. When real life demands adaptation, spreadsheets automatically shrink in importance.

Hive numbers: slow but alive

Now to the stacking.

Hive Power moved from: 16,940 → 17,045

Weekly goal: 774 Weekly achieved: 105

That’s not crushing it, but it is surviving it.

HBD held steady at 1,640.

Second layer nudged forward again:

  • DUO: 1,136 → 1,137

  • BBHO: 12,550 → 12,576

  • BEE: 724 → 725

Micro gains.

But the thing is, the system is still operational. Witnesses are running. Bots are alive. Dashboards are updating. The machine didn’t break when my energy did. Now I call that a real win.

Perspective

This is not a high-performance quarter. This is a restructuring quarter.

Body restructuring. Career restructuring. House restructuring.

Hive is simply maintaining continuity, and that’s enough for now.

Speed will come back. Income clarity will come back. Momentum will come back.

For now, we walk. We adapt. We stack.

Sloth mode engaged. Still moving forward.
