Resident Evil 2 Remake [Let's Play] - "Leon A" 01

Resident Evil 2 Remake is a survival horror game based on the PS1 classic rebuilt from the ground up. Unlike the remake of the first game, this one replaces fixed-camera angle with over the shoulder gameplay.

Set in the zombie-infested Raccoon City where a viral outbreak has turned the population into monsters, the game follows Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield who set out to survive the night and eventually discover the dark secrets of the Umbrella Corporation.

Resident Evil 2 Remake, retains the original's limited resources, encouraging you to approach every encounter with fresh tactics rather than relying on brute force. The gameplay is streamlined, but the tension remains which is why I think RE2 is a Remake done right!

The game's pacing is genuinely fun! I taste panic a lot in this version of the game compared to other RE titles, but I never felt cheated - a change in approach always led me to progress even if it required a few tries. Like classic Resident Evil, the tense action sequences followed by slow puzzle solving in a good balance. The game is very scary but not overly so...

As of writing this, I only finished Leon A scenario in Standard difficulty... The last few bosses were extremely difficult, as my best weapons havd limited ammo - I never acquired the Magnum which would've helped a lot. But that sense of accomplishment when you finally crack a tough boss pattern after multiple attempts is incredibly satisfying.

Mr X was terrifying - I love how the game trained you to feel panic whenever you hear his soundtrack. Ada's sections were cool too! She's the perfect neutral morality character in this series. You can watch my playthrough below:
