Persona 5: The Phantom X [Let's Play] - 01 - Prologue
Note: This article was written in the week this game came out globally, as well as the recording. It was intended as a review at the time, but it's incomplete. Posting it anyway:
Persona 5: The Phantom X is a Gacha game set in an alternate version of Persona 5's world. It features an original story that follows a new set of Phantom Thieves. This is my First Impression Mini-review for this game!

Persona 5 is up there as one of my favorite RPGs, so when P5X was released in English, I knew I have to try it! Gachas games are a genre I'm not a fan of, (requires too much time investment,) but I figured if the story is good enough, I could tolerate the Gacha elements!
The Steam version was locked off my region, so I decided to play the Android version instead... My Galaxy Tab S9FE could only run the game on Low-Medium settings, but it worked smoothly under these limits.
My first impression in the first few minutes of the game: "Wow! This is Persona 5!" Literally, I guess, because the first scene of this game is taken straight off Persona 5 storyline. P5X uses the Casino mission from the original Persona 5 as a tutorial. I think they designed it this way to entice players to compare P5X's presentation with the original, and see how close to perfect they got it.
This design choice was a double-edged sword, though... Persona 5: The Phantom X is almost as stylish as Persona 5/Royal, but what makes it imperfect is the limitations of being a Mobile/Gacha game. P5X has too much going at once. The menu is full of elements that fight for your attention! The more sytems are introduced, the more cluttered the menus become.
I have to give it to the developers, though. It's still looks awesome, even with all the clutter! ...If you know what you're getting into, it's fine. But the presentation is clearly inferior to Persona 5/Royal.
Anyway, I wanted to write this as a review, but I'll just stop here and let my gameplay footage do the rest of the talking...
