Let's Try "DreadOut" - First 40 Minutes
DreadOut is an Indonesian horror adventure game that follows a student trapped in a cursed city along with her group of friends. The game is mostly about exploration and avoiding supernatural monsters, while defending yourself with your camera.
As someone who's experience with survival horror is mostly western or Japanese, the horror-lore here felt refreshing. Before I knew this game was made by an indonesian team, I felt a similarity between the monsters here and the Djinn, (though these are still different,) and this game made me intrigued towards the indonesian folklore.
(Indonesia always intrigued me as the world's biggest Islamic country.)
I played a few hours of the game, but stopped after finding myself going in circles in the second location of the story. Below are my first session playing this game:
