Dino Crisis [Let's Play] - 01
Dino Crisis is a survival panic game developed by the same team behind Resident Evil. It swaps out zombies for dinosaurs. The game follows Regina, a special agent sent to investigate a mysterious island facility after an experiment for a new energy source went horribly wrong!

The first Dino Crisis game first released on PS1 and features real-time 3D environments with dynamic camera movement. The dinosaurs serve mostly as a background threat as Regina explores the facility and learns more about the 3rd Energy Project!
This playthrough uses the ReBirth Mod on top of the GoG version of the game.
I played Dino Crisis during my teenage years. I already played the first hours of Dino Crisis 2 at the time, and with my little English knowledge, Dino Crisis 1 felt complicated in comparison... I didn't know where to go 2 hours into the game. Finally finishing the game now with the GoG version felt incredibly satisfying.
Despite the clunky controls, the game still holds up surprisingly well. With its tense atmosphere and the constant threat of raptors lurking around every corner. The story adds some interesting sci-fi elements, though the the time travel aspect turned out to be more a plot device to introduce the Dinosaurs, rather than the actual main plotline.
While I'd recommend this game to survival horror fans, I did run into some technical issues... FMVs kept skipping themselves which broke some of the cinematic flow. The game features huge amounts of backtracking, especially near the end, so much that I kept a guide open so I figure out what I was missing. Still, the ending was satisfying and worth the journey.
