"This place is not gonna be a success."
That depends on how you define success. From the perspective of the OG whales that have maintained capture of >90% of the inflation from the rewards pool since Steem advented, I see that Hive is very much a success, and has been all along. Because you and I are not part of that cabal, our definition of success varies significantly from theirs, and requires growth, engagement, rising token price, and much more. For the OG whales, those are failure, because all of them would attract outside interest in the platform and there are many investors to whom Hive's market cap is lunch money, as Sun Yuchen demonstrated with Steem, and were such stake attracted to Hive the cabal presently capturing most of the financial rewards, as well as mining the DHF, would be unable to keep control of the platform and would lose their golden goose.
Ok ok. Still I think without core average users. The fame big fish play is more obvious without these average smaller users no? Why why?
You're absolutely right. Without the community there's no market for the tokens. That ends the scam, and off they will go to the next one. They can only profit by selling the tokens, and without the community there's no market. They try to balance the fine line between total collapse and growth, to keep everything just at the most profitable level, while they mine the DHF for the $M's their stake enables them to take. When that's gone, I think they'll dump their stakes and leave. We'll see in a few years at this rate of depletion of the DHF.
Cash is king. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. As long as they maintain their lock on inflation, they win. There's no predicting what would happen if they mess with their proven successful formule, as Sun Yuchen demonstrated. Of course, that was caused by their iron fisted lock on rewards, which is why Ned bailed.
So, there's that. Sooner or later the ride ends. If you love something, keep it locked in the cellar for as long as possible, and when it escapes try to catch it before it gets away.
That seems to be the philosophy operant.
