The internet does make it easier find echo chambers and reinforce confirmation biases. Perhaps there is also more of an egocentric attitude to resist any contradiction now, but then again, plenty of old folks casually dismiss any new ideas or contradictory positions as "youthful ignorance" even from us elder millennials.
