once upon a time, about 113 years ago, income taxes were promised to only apply to the welathiest in America, ensuring the rich pay their fair share, and giving the rest of the populace relief from the added cost of tariffs. And here we are today, with Trump promising new tariffs will end income taxes for workers. Ha!
