that's so cool! It's really a very friendly community. People dedicate so much of their life to these games and they understand the passion of another player. Being an illustrator, I've always been around "Magic the Gathering", "D&D", etc. But never played... I was one of those 'dancing awayers.'

What I find fascination is the human need to collect things, or create collections... Everyone collects something - coins, gems, bugs, cards - its the ability to turn a single item into a series that adds value to the item.

Thank you for really reading the post!

I always had love for the Art of Magic the Gathering, and I've played a fair bit of D&D, Pathfinder, and other in person, in face to face type games.

I was never really one for "collecting", but well, Final Fantasy was my child hood, I love so many of the characters, and I now have one of each of these cards, as well as the memories of playing these games each friday night with strangers.

Yeah they are very pretty - I can see the neat metallic foil and meticulous attention to detail to make these cards look just 'top tier'

Ah, those are "surge foils" - they have a rippled foiling effect, instead of just being "standard foils".

The "Kefka" card alone is worth about $400AUD!

I didn't pay that much for it, but I spent a lot on sealed product that I opened :P Hopefully, in ten years or whenever, I might be in profit ;)
